Rare footage of the 6 day war where IDF Soldiers Liberate the Old City of Jerusalem - YouTube

IDF Soldiers Liberate the Old City of Jerusalem - YouTube

Next week, Jews around the world will observe the festival of Shavuot. According to (Leviticus 23:15-16). Thus, on Shavuot, which falls 50 days after Passover (and is also known as Pentecost), Jews commemorate the time in ancient days when the “first fruits” were harvested and brought to the holy Temple in Jerusalem as an offering to God. The second and most significant event commemorated on Shavuot is the giving of the Torah to Moses on Mount Sinai. Then there is this most awesome  dimension to Shavuot. The holiday falls one week after Israel marks Jerusalem Day, the anniversary of the liberation of the city of Jerusalem in 1967 during the Six Day War. It was, in fact, on Shavuot that year when Israel defeated enemy forces who had taken over East Jerusalem after Israel’s 1948 War of Independence, and thousands of grateful Jewish pilgrims were able to see the holy sites they had long been denied access to. Here is a rare actual footage of that moment of IDF Soldiers capturing the old city of Jerusalem!
