Returning Again

Returning Again: By Leah Tillock

This photo reminds us of the depth of the purpose of Christ's birth. God had told the Prophet Simeon you shall not die till you hold the Savior of the world in your arms and after that, you shall be brought home in peace. Oh how Simeon looked for the Christ! Everyday! I can see him eager each day, looking for a couple to come through the temple whose baby was the son of God,  Jesus the Christ! Day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year and he would think to himself, I am aged, very aged, surly, it can not be much longer before the Christ appears! Then suddenly, one day it happens! The Prophet Simeon sees the Christ child, he knows instantly it is Him! His heart leaps out of his chest, he walks as fast as his aged legs allow, oh my God, my God, then that moment comes, he picks up the Christ child Jesus the Savior of the world and as he hugs him close to his chest the silent scream to be with our savior  heard down through the ages cries out of his soul thru a deep expression on his face half a cry of joy the Savior was born and half a cry of deep sorrow for the cross this child, this son of God  would take for us, to save us. The heart of Christmas is the cross! For the joy that was set before Him, Jesus endured His cross to be with us. Let us as Simeon every day, look for Jesus, to be with Him soon and let us endure our cross to the end for the joy that is set before us in Heaven.
