Ancient Coins Discovered from Ezra

Ancient Coins Discovered from Ezra
The five recently recovered specimens have been identified by
numismatists (coin collectors) as “Yehud” coins, representing the first
to be minted by Jewish authorities. It is generally accepted that these
coins were stamped around 350 BC at a mint located in Jerusalem. This
discovery by the sifting project brings to 10 the number of Yehud coins
found in ancient Jerusalem. In all of Israel, there have been a total of
51 Yehud coins unearthed and recorded at archaeological digs.
